As human beings, how we perceive our place in the world is often shaped and influenced by our childhood experiences. Our early relationships create a template for how we interact with others in personal relationships, friendships, the workplace and our community. Ongoing life events continue to contribute to our psychological experiences and have a further bearing on how we perceive our life. When we start to understand the impact of our past on our present, we often begin to make sense of our current day thoughts, feelings and reactions. This can lead to us feeling more empowered to make changes and discover a new and more positive way of being.
